Jim was named CTO of Eyematic Interfaces when it acquired his previous company, Shout Interactive. Eyematic integrated Shout’s frictionless 3D/VR distribution technology into its animation pipeline. Doing so helped complete the company’s range of facial and motion animation offerings.
Eyematic developed groundbreaking animation production tools for PCs, Web, 3DS Max and Maya under Jim’s guidance. He paired these with versatile interactive 3D players developed for every mobile OS available. These production and distribution solutions formed the backbone of 3D/VR experiences created for partners including: Marvel, Nokia, Verizon, Docomo, SK Telecom and KDDI.
As CTO of Eyematic, Jim was instrumental in securing $29M from strategic investors like Texas Instruments, Sun Microsystems and Omron. The computer vision technology developed at Eyematic was sold to Google and used to create Google Goggles, Google Lens and other services.
